Hluboká nad Vltavou v meziválečném období (Příspěvek ke studiu každodennosti jihočeského městečka v letech 1918-1938

Tato práce s názvem "Hluboká nad Vltavou v meziválečném období" (Příspěvek ke studiu každodennosti jihočeského městečka v letech 1918-1938) vyjadřuje svůj obsah již samotným názvem. Snaží se přispět k poznání reality jednoho městečka na jihu Čech a zachytit atmosféru doby v meziválečných letech. S pomocí dostupných dokumentů pak vytvořit co nejpravdivěji celkový obraz města.

Práce je rozvržena do 8 základních kapitol. První kapitola vymezuje a charakterizuje hlubocký okres a stručně se zmiňuje o jeho historickém i ekonomickém vývoji. Druhá kapitola je věnována obyvatelům Hluboké. Všímá si jejich početního stavu a obecně základních demografických trendů nejen v období první republiky, ale i retrospektivně v období první světové války. Třetí kapitola se zabývá prvorepublikovým městem a jeho charakteristikou, možnostmi prvorepublikového občana a jeho kvalitou života v jihočeském městečku v meziválečném období. Cílem čtvrté kapitoly bylo postihnout historický vývoj Hluboké nad Vltavou ve 20. a 30. letech 20. století a zasadit jej do dění v Československé republice. Důraz je především kladen na 20. léta, v nichž jsou rozebírány otázky hospodářského, politického a náboženského života, ale i sociální vývoj v prvních poválečných letech v závislosti na negativním dopadu první světové války na všechny oblasti života společnosti. Poněvadž ve dvacátých letech došlo k zásadním změnám, které měly vliv na způsob života šlechty, rozhodla jsem se jim věnovat následující pátou kapitolu. V důsledku širokého pole záběru a přerušení popisu událostí ve dvacátých letech "věcmi knížecími" a pozemkovou reformou, zmiňuji situaci ve 30. letech pouze v nejdůležitějších bodech a věnuji jim samostatnou šestou kapitolu. Sedmá kapitola se zabývá prvorepublikovým trendem - turismem - a jeho vlivem na chod městečka. Poslední osmá kapitola se zaměřuje na život prvorepublikového člověka od jeho narození až po smrt. Obšírněji se zabývám spolky, které tvořily neoddělitelnou součást společenského života, dále se v kapitole objevují témata jako zaměstnání a nezaměstnanost, chudoba, kriminalita aj.

Práce se tedy pokouší postihnout charakter místního života a zejména vystihnout autentický každodenní život lidí různých společenských vrstev. Proto je také posledním dvěma kapitolám věnováno více pozornosti a tvoří jádro této práce.

Vzhledem k tomu, že s takto všestranným kulturněhistorickým pohledem na Hlubokou dvacátých a třicátých let minulého století se v monografiích o městě nesetkáme, měla by tato práce jejich seznam obohatit.

 

Hluboká nad Vltavou in the Period between the Two World Wars" (Contribution to the Study of the Commonness of a Southern Bohemian Little Town in the Years 1918-1938)

My work entitled "Hluboká nad Vltavou in the Period between the Two World Wars" (Contribution to the Study of the Commonness of a Southern Bohemian Little Town in the Years 1918-1938) expresses its content by the title itself. Its aim is to contribute to the understanding of reality in a small town in South Bohemia and to catch the atmosphere of the period between the wars. And - with the help of accessible documents - to create in the most realistic way the general image of the town.

The work is divided into 8 basic chapters. First chapter delimits and characterises the district of Hluboká and mentions briefly its historical and economic development. Second chapter deals with the inhabitants of Hluboká. It pays attention to their number and to the basic population trends, not only in the period of the so-called "First Republic", but also in the years of the WWI. Chapter 3 deals with the town in the period of the "First Republic", exploring its characteristics, opportunities of people living in that time and also their quality of life in a small South-Bohemian town in the years between the wars. Chapter 4 aims to depict the historical development of Hluboká nad Vltavou in the 1920s and 1930s and to put it into the context of events in the Czechoslovak Republic.

The emphasis is put on the 1920s within which I analyse questions of economic, political and religious life, as well as the social development in the first post-war years in dependence on the negative impact of the WWI on all areas of everyday life. Taking into account all the fundamental changes in the life of aristocracy that were made in the 1920s, I decided to examine them more in detail in chapter 5. The field of my study being so wide and also because of the interruption of my description of events in the 1920s by the "aristocracy matters" and by the land reform, I mention here only the most important aspects of the situation in the 1930s. These are dealt with in a separate chapter 6. Chapter 7 investigates a new trend of the "First Republic" - tourism - and it pays attention to its influence on the life in the town. Last chapter 8 surveys the life of people living in the period of the "First Republic" - from their birth to death. A great emphasis is laid on the different clubs and societies, which formed an inseparable part of the social life. In addition to that, there also appear the issues of employment and unemployment, poverty, crime etc.

My work tries to understand the character of the local life, and particularly to give a true picture of the authentic everyday life of people belonging to different social classes. Therefore more attention is paid to the last two chapters, which actually form the core of this work.

As such a universal cultural-historical view of Hluboká in the 1920s and 1930s is not to be found in common monographs of the town, let this work be enrichment to their list.
