Zdraví, nemoc, léčení a jejich reflexe v pramenech subjektivní povahy (Příspěvek ke studiu českého fin de siècle)

Předkládaná diplomová práce na téma Zdraví, nemoc, léčení a jejich reflexe v pramenech subjektivní povahy pojednává o vztahu české společnosti a lékařské vědy v období konce 19. a počátku 20. století. Jejím hlavním cílem je popsat alespoň některé ze soudobých názorů, myšlenek a přístupů vážících se k pojímání zdravotního stavu, hrozby nemocí či k lékařské práci. Tato práce je vytvořena na základě memoárové literatury a osobní korespondence z fondů Literárního archivu Památníku národního písemnictví.

První kapitola obsahuje stručný přehled vývoje medicíny a hygieny během "dlouhého" 19. století spolu s výčtem nejčastějších chorob. Následující kapitola se zabývá životem a prací lékařů na venkově a ve městech, třetí kapitola pak obsahuje popis nemocí tak, jak byly reflektovány pisateli vzpomínek. Další kapitoly se zmiňují o léčebných prostředcích oficiálního i lidového lékařství, životosprávě, pohledu společnosti na povolání lékaře a popisuje některé vztahy mezi lékaři a jejich pacienty. Tato práce je dílčím příspěvkem ke studiu společnosti na přelomu 19. a 20. století a její závěry mohou být použity k dalšímu bádání v této problematice.

 

Health, Disease, Treatment and their Reflection in Subjective Sources (A contribution the study on the Czech fin de siècle)

The presented diploma work for the theme The health, illness, treatment and their reflection in the sources of subjective character is focused on the relationship of Czech society and medicine science in the period of the end of the 19^th and the beginning of the 20^th century. The aim is to describe some of contemporary opinions, theories and approaches attached to embracement the health condition, the threat of diseases or to the medical care. This work is written on the basis of the memoir literature and personal correspondence from the funds of The Literary archive of the Memorial of the national literature.

The first chapter contains summary of medicine evolution and hygiene during the "long" 19^th century together with enumeration of the most frequented diseases. Following chapter is concerned with life and work of the doctors in the countryside and in the cities, third chapter contains description of diseases, how the writers of memoirs reflected them. Next chapters are focused on cures both official and traditionary medicine, way of living, society view of the doctor profession and describing some of relationships originating between doctors and their patients. This work is a partial paper to the studies of the society at the end of the 19^th and the beginning of the 20^th century and its conclusions can be used for the next researches in these questions.
