Jeho studia v Praze, Mnichov a Pai meme pokldat za takka modelov pro konec 19. stolet. Pozornost je tak vnovna nmtov spznnmu Hanui Schwaigerovi. The Story of The Modern Artist. Joa Uprka (1861-1940)
The thesis disserts about painter Joa Uprka in the context of modern Czech art culture formalization at the end of 19th and 20th Century. It also focus on Uprka's decentralization attitude expressed in his firm relation to native land of Slovcko, his lifetime basis. His typical work is slowly disappearing from public knowledge. It has been more than 60 years since his latest monography was printed. His study in Prague, Munich, and Paris can be considered as exemplary for the end of 19th Century. Attention is being diverted to subject-similar painter Hanu Schwaiger. Uprka in the common recognition sticked in the second class category of folklore-subject artists, yet wrongly. It is a pitty not only for the artist but mainly for Czech culture. The culmination of Uprka's work at the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th Century, is evidently an original art approach.
