"Perla jižní Moravy" mezi světovými válkami (K rozvoji cestovního ruchu a turistiky v Československu mezi lety 1918-1938 s konkrétním zaměřením na město Znojmo a oblast Podyjí)

Jak již napovídá samotný název, předmětem práce a badatelským záměrem autora byla snaha prozkoumat a popsat vývoj specifické oblasti každodennosti člověka žijícího v období tzv. první Československé republiky. Řeč je o cestovním ruchu a organizované turistice. Zmíněné problematice nebyla doposud ze strany historické veřejnosti věnována taková pozornost, jakou by si jistě zasloužila. Právě během meziválečného dvacetiletí však prodělal tento zajímavý fenomén moderní doby svůj veliký rozmach. V tomto čase přestává být cestování více než kdy jindy zábavou pouze pro bohaté a postupně se stává trvalou součástí života širších vrstev. Rovněž organizovaná turistika, která své počátky začala psát dávno před sledovaným obdobím, prochází během úvodních dvaceti let naší země zajímavým vývojem.

Popisované období přineslo jak v oboru cestovní ruch, tak i v oboru organizovaná turistika etapy, které byly někdy více, někdy méně důležité. Snahou autora bylo za pomoci dostupných pramenů a literatury vykreslit jednak složitý vývoj v cestovním ruchu z hlediska celostátního, zároveň se ale zaměřit na specifika jeho vývoje v konkrétní oblasti během určitého časového období. Obě data v názvu práce je tedy nutno chápat orientačně s ohledem na důležitost letopočtů v politických dějinách země.

Diplomová práce je rozdělena do tématických kapitol, které jsou rozvedeny v řadě doplňujících podkapitol. Od všeobecného úvodu týkajícího se vývoje cestovního ruchu a turistiky v Československu se práce zaměřuje na město Znojmo a oblast Podyjí během meziválečného období. Vedle celkového kulturně-společenského obrazu příhraničního regionu popisuje především zdejší vývoj v cestovním ruchu. Všímá si otázek spojených s jeho organizací, propagací, s vydáváním turistické literatury. V neposlední řadě popisuje rovněž aktivity jednotlivců, spolků a organizací, jež společně přispěli k jeho dalšímu úspěšnému rozvoji v rozmezí let 1918-1938.

Práce si v žádném případě neklade za cíl postihnout vývoj problematiky v celé šíři. Takové pojednání by si vyžádalo mnohem detailnější prostudování dobových materiálů uložených v oblastních archivech, dále pak v archivech českých a moravských měst. Vzhledem k význačnému podílu německé části obyvatelstva meziválečného Československa na rozvoji cestovního ruchu by stranou nesměly zůstat ani archivní fondy v sousedním Rakousku a Německu, které bezpochyby obsahují množství dosud nepublikovaných informací, jež by významně přispěly k našim dosavadním poznatkům.

 

"The Pearl of South Moravia" Between the Two World Wars
(The development of tourist industry in Czechoslovakia in the years 1918-1938 with specific focus on the town of Znojmo and the region Podyjí)

Already the title the diploma thesis prompts that the subjekt and object of this research was to explore and describe the development of one specific area of a routine of a inter-war year man, that were not from a historic point of view researched yet, but that had gone through big bom in twenty years between the two World Wars. What this topic concerns is tourism industry and organized tourism. It is in the time between the two World Wars when traveling ceases to be only the entertainment of the wealthy but sloly becomes a permanent part of the lives of the other classses. Also the orgaized tourism, that marked its beginning long before the monitored time, goes through in this historical period through a interesting development in Czechoslovakia.

In the two mentioned fields, the period of the first twenty years of the first Czechoslovakian Republic brought with stages of development, which were more or less important. The aim of the autors was, with the help of available resources and literature, besides the complexity of development in the tourism industry from the nationwide point of view to outline the most important moments of its development in a specific region and in a specific time span. Therefor it is necessary to understand the exact dates in the title as landmark considering the importance of these dates in relationship to the political history of the country.

The work does not propose to strike the development of the mentioned issue in its full scope. The issue this work contains is so extensive and it would need a lot more detailed exploration of materials from that time period, that are embedded in regional archives, archives of Czech ad Moravian towns and also the archivel funds in the nieighboring Austria and Germany if we take into consideration the eminent share of the German population in the inter-war Czechoslovakia on the development of the tourism industry. There is nodoubt about the the amounts of so far unpublished information, which would significantly contribute to our present knowledge about thedescribed issue.

The diploma thesis in divided into seven main thematic chapters, and these then into several subchapters. From the general introduction, that concerns the development of the tourism industryand tourism in Czechoslovakia in general, the work focuses on the town of Znojmo and the region of Podyjí during the inter-war time and besides the overall socio-cultural picture of the nearby border region the works describes mainly the development in tourism industry in this region. It notices the question connected with its organisation, promotion, and the publishing of the literature of tourism. Last but not least it describes the activities of the individuals, groups and organizations, which together contributed to its successful development.
