Život vyšších společenských vrstev v Plzni ve třicátých a čtyřicátých letech 19. století

Předkládaná diplomová práce pojednává o životě vyšších společenských vrstev Plzně třicátých a čtyřicátých let. Nejprve se zcela obecně zabývá proměnou vzhledu a hospodářským i kulturním vývojem tohoto města a poté se již soustřeďuje na problematiku jeho sociální skladby, přičemž velký důraz je kladen především na vyšší společenské vrstvy. Je zde vymezeno, koho bylo možné počítat do jejich řad a jakými charakteristickými znaky se tito jedinci vyznačovali. V další kapitole jsou zcela konkrétně popsány jednotlivé skupiny těchto obyvatel i s několika základními biografickými údaji o jejich příslušnících. Pozornost je věnována také tomu, jakými způsoby dávali tito lidé své výlučné postavení najevo, dále jejich vzájemným vazbám a oblíbeným společenským zábavám.

 

The presented dissertation deals with the life of the upper classes in Pilsen in the eighteen thirties and forties. At first it deals with the transformation of the appearance of this town and its economic and cultural development. Afterwards it concentrates on the problems of its social structure - an increased emphasis is laid on the upper class. In this section there is a definition of those who fall into this group and a description of the characteristic signs by which these people are recognized. In the next chapter, individual groups of these inhabitants are described in concrete terms with their essential biographical dates. Attention is paid to the different ways in which they revealed their exclusive social position, the nature of relations between themselves and also what their favourite social activities and entertainments were.
