P�edkl�dan� diplomov� pr�ce pojedn�v� o �ivot� vy���ch spole�ensk�ch vrstev Plzn� t�ic�t�ch a �ty�ic�t�ch let. Nejprve se zcela obecn� zab�v� prom�nou vzhledu a hospod��sk�m i kulturn�m v�vojem tohoto m�sta a pot� se ji� soust�e�uje na problematiku jeho soci�ln� skladby, p�i�em� velk� d�raz je kladen p�edev��m na vy��� spole�ensk� vrstvy. Je zde vymezeno, koho bylo mo�n� po��tat do jejich �ad a jak�mi charakteristick�mi znaky se tito jedinci vyzna�ovali. V dal�� kapitole jsou zcela konkr�tn� pops�ny jednotliv� skupiny t�chto obyvatel i s n�kolika z�kladn�mi biografick�mi �daji o jejich p��slu�n�c�ch. Pozornost je v�nov�na tak� tomu, jak�mi zp�soby d�vali tito lid� sv� v�lu�n� postaven� najevo, d�le jejich vz�jemn�m vazb�m a obl�ben�m spole�ensk�m z�bav�m.

 

The presented dissertation deals with the life of the upper classes in Pilsen in the eighteen thirties and forties. At first it deals with the transformation of the appearance of this town and its economic and cultural development. Afterwards it concentrates on the problems of its social structure - an increased emphasis is laid on the upper class. In this section there is a definition of those who fall into this group and a description of the characteristic signs by which these people are recognized. In the next chapter, individual groups of these inhabitants are described in concrete terms with their essential biographical dates. Attention is paid to the different ways in which they revealed their exclusive social position, the nature of relations between themselves and also what their favourite social activities and entertainments were.
